5.0 out of 5 stars Funny and informative 10 Nov 2002
Format:Paperback
I bought this for a friend who was to be a first time dad, and when it arrived I read half of it without being able to put it down, even though I wasn't a Dad and had no immediate intention of becoming one! So when my wife became pregnant for the first time I went straight online and bought it. It's written by a father of three, so you get the impression throughout that he knows what he's talking about, unlike some similar books. It's informative, although it's written by an American, so odd bits aren't relevant for UK readers, but this is only a minor issue. The best thing, though, is the humour - I laughed out loud many a time while reading it. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars good read for dad's to be 3 July 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I bought this for my husband when I found out I was pregnant and it is a really funny read.It covers pregnancy, the birth and the after effects and gives real information in a light easy to swallow format.Favourite section was on names not to call a child(Elvis,Hitler)Downside is that the author is australian and so some of the information doesn't apply in this country, but worth a read all the same.

3.0 out of 5 stars there are better books out there 14 Aug 2003

I found it a bit shallow and patronising to be honest. And the implication that family pets should be turfed out when the baby is born was irresponsible to say the least.
