After enjoying Shane Greer's punchy and eminently readable book
Why Vote Conservative?, I was very intrigued by his next literary offering - the slickly produced "So you want to be a Politician?"
Shane's second work is geared as a handbook on the ins-and-outs of political campaigning and what is needed to succeed in politics (a sort of "prospectus" for politics). The sections are neatly arranged and Shane has collated a remarkable range of figures of many different political backgrounds to offer sound advice on matters ranging from fund-raising to the art of the photo opportunity and even fashion tips! So, the book is definitely an extensive resource for political information and given the contributors' vast expertise, you can safely rely on the quality of their advice and knowledge.
Although politicians aren't exactly at the height of popularity nowadays, with a extensive guide like this on hand - any reader would be left well-informed and tempted to get involved in politics (if they haven't decided to already). For anyone interested in politics, this is a fascinating compendium to read.
However there is one issue with the book. With it all so clearly explained, everyone will want to be Prime Minister after reading this!
