A childhood favourite 26 Nov 2003
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I was given this book as a gift for Christmas by my aunt who actually knew the author. My mother features as a character in the book (Janet's cousin) and so it was always a favourite of mine. As I've grown older I have also begun to appreciate the history behind the novel. I would recommend this book to everyone.

Although I'm far from being a teenager any more, this is one of my favourite books. I learned a lot about the clearances, about growing up at that time, about young Australian history .... all packed into a big moving, thrilling story. The author did a great job. History has come to life.
