3.0 out of 5 stars Daily carry all. 3 Nov 2010
Colour Name:Olive|Size Name:One Size
The design of this bag was the answer to my search for a multi use bag that can carry everything I need on a daily basis. I work as a guide at the Fortress of Fenestrelle and a walking and tracking guide here in the alps. I need to carry torches, lunch, first aid, waterproofs, and various other items. I used to use a bergen but now I only need this bag. Made from seemingly robust materials with several sensibly sized pockets the bag has become a "Thunderbird 2" where I just have to change the contents of the central pocket depending on what I am doing that day.
With the waist belt the bag will sit comfortably under a 30l rucksac for longer adventures and is ideal on mountain biking trips keeping the centre of gravity low. The MOLLE strips on the sides means that I can add other pouches when necessary.

Update. 27/11/11
After using the bag on a daily basis for about 4 months it started falling apart. The seams started un-stiching and the belt sections started to come away from the bag. The bag had however proven the idea and utility of such a design. This snug-pack was rapidly replaced with the "Maxpedition" PROTEUS VERSIPACK. This is much better quality (reflected in the price)and has endured a very tough summer and autumn. This bag is still as good as new.
My advice would be that if you are looking for a bag of these dimensions, especially if looking to use it in any form of tactical field then you are better off looking at Maxpedition kit. Snug pack makes great soft kit but the bag leaves somewhat to be desired.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very versatile little bag, well worth the money! 20 April 2010
Colour Name:Olive|Size Name:One Size
I am very happy with my purchase of this SnugPak Response Pak from GlowGadgets (through Amazon UK).

As seen on the photos, this bag's multi-purpose adjustable straps allow it to be carried in a variety of configurations (either on yourself, or attached to some other piece of gear), and/or to carry extra stuff attached to its outside.

The 4 main zipped compartments hold enough stuff to free my pockets when I'm out on a 1-day field trip. There is also 1 very well concealed compartment in the back (flattened and closed by Velcro at both ends), big enough to hold a couple of passports and plane tickets. When all the compartments are full to capacity, the whole thing measures approx. 30x15x15 centimeters (12x6x6 inches); when empty, it weighs 400 grams (just under 1 pound).

All in all, this is a very versatile little bag, and I intend to use it in the waist pouch configuration, as a minimalist survival bag for emergencies (what Americans call a "bug out bag") which I will keep at all times in my car.

The only thing I would change in this bag would be make the synthetic fabric waterproof, and have the zippers opening at both ends - and this is the only reason I don't give it 5 stars...

I would also like to express my gratefulness publicly to Chris "Doc" Taylor at GlowGadgets (who hand-signed the order receipt) for the 2 free gifts (which would have cost me roughly 5) that he shipped with this bag: 1 "BCB Fireball Flint & Striker with Compass" and 1 "Spork" (which you can also get from them right here, through Amazon UK). Thanks "Doc", you just got yourself a lifetime customer! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Just the job. 11 Aug 2012

Colour Name:Black| Size Name:One Size|Verified Purchase
Purchased this as a tool bag for work. Just the right size to carry the basic maintenance tools. Found a pocket for just about everything. Bag seems very strong and hard wearing after 1 months use. Would highly recommend this product, especially at the reduced price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for Gadgets 13 April 2010
Colour Name:Olive|Size Name:One Size
4 compartments: 2 end (about small satnav size), 1 side (size for about 2 PSPs), 1 main (4 or 5 PSPs). Side & main compartments have meshing to hold flat objects along its length.

Great quality item. Stitching very secure and plenty of straps to keep everything solid.

4 stars as it's a little too military in appearance (green only with plenty of strapping) but does its job brilliantly. Mine holds all the gadgets that I don't want to leave in the car.

GLOW GADGETS: superb seller.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad stitching 26 Nov 2012
Colour Name:Olive| Size Name:One Size|Verified Purchase
As mentioned before by other reviewers, the stitching is very poor.
As soon as I received it, the side stitches were already lose. I kept it as I was going hiking and didn't have time to wait for a replacement (Although they offered to replace it, the state of the product should have been checked beforehand).
After a month of use, one side of the belt stitches are almost gone. No much use for it without a reliable belt.

So, if you intend to use this for a couple of weeks and don't mind its very restreint lifespan, than this product is for you.

2.0 out of 5 stars poor stitching 16 Nov 2012
Colour Name:Black| Size Name:One Size|Verified Purchase
When I received this item it seemed reasonably good quality, but within less than 6 months the stitching on one of the side pockets came undone making the pocket unusable. Prior to owning this snugpak I'd used a 5 litre Lifeventure Hip Pack that I bought in 2005 and used until 2012, and even when I stopped using it all the seams and zips were fully intact and working perfectly. It's a shame they're no longer available.

2.0 out of 5 stars Roomy, handy, but somewhat poor quality 20 Aug 2012
Colour Name:Olive|Size Name:One Size
I got a Snugpak ResponsePak as a present in December 2011 and started using it for hiking and geocaching immediately. I alternated using it as a waist bag/pouch/bum bag and diagonally across my back. The belt is long enough to use it both ways. There's plenty of room for almost anything you can think of in terms of small items, and the bag just seems to expand "forever" to accommodate whatever you put in it. It's also very easy to get to the stuff inside without taking the bag off.

However, the stitching leaves a lot to be desired. The stitching where the belt is attached to the bag itself, have now started to fall apart after about 8 months of occasional use. For comparison, I still have cheap (as in free handouts with advertisement on them) daytrip backpacks which are holding up just fine after 15 years of allround, regular punishment. What's the use in having ripstop if the stitching give up? The Chinese factories aren't what they used to be ...

Although it's a versatile and practical bag which look sturdy and outdoorsy, the poor quality relegates it to just sit somewhere with kit in, waiting to be used once or twice. I wouldn't trust the ResponsePak on longer hikes, and I won't buy another.
