I am very happy with my purchase of this SnugPak Response Pak from GlowGadgets (through Amazon UK).
As seen on the photos, this bag's multi-purpose adjustable straps allow it to be carried in a variety of configurations (either on yourself, or attached to some other piece of gear), and/or to carry extra stuff attached to its outside.
The 4 main zipped compartments hold enough stuff to free my pockets when I'm out on a 1-day field trip. There is also 1 very well concealed compartment in the back (flattened and closed by Velcro at both ends), big enough to hold a couple of passports and plane tickets. When all the compartments are full to capacity, the whole thing measures approx. 30x15x15 centimeters (12x6x6 inches); when empty, it weighs 400 grams (just under 1 pound).
All in all, this is a very versatile little bag, and I intend to use it in the waist pouch configuration, as a minimalist survival bag for emergencies (what Americans call a "bug out bag") which I will keep at all times in my car.
The only thing I would change in this bag would be make the synthetic fabric waterproof, and have the zippers opening at both ends - and this is the only reason I don't give it 5 stars...
I would also like to express my gratefulness publicly to Chris "Doc" Taylor at GlowGadgets (who hand-signed the order receipt) for the 2 free gifts (which would have cost me roughly 5£) that he shipped with this bag: 1 "BCB Fireball Flint & Striker with Compass" and 1 "Spork" (which you can also get from them right here, through Amazon UK). 4 compartments: 2 end (about small satnav size), 1 side (size for about 2 PSPs), 1 main (4 or 5 PSPs). Side & main compartments have meshing to hold flat objects along its length.
Great quality item. Stitching very secure and plenty of straps to keep everything solid.
4 stars as it's a little too military in appearance (green only with plenty of strapping) but does its job brilliantly. Mine holds all the gadgets that I don't want to leave in the car.

Never in a million years would I have believed I would have bought a bum bag. However, my job involves a lot of outdoors stuff and this is so much more practical than using a day sack. I am often stopping and starting, checking GPS to note down grid references, taking photos and other stuff and the layout is perfect. Two end pockets are ideal for cameras and GPS. In the centre are two much larger pockets and enough room for me to hold amongst other things: stubby hammer; foldable saw; pliers; tape measure; zip ties; bag of nails; binoculars; paracord and garden twine; spirit level; spare batteries; dozens of waymarker discs; secatuers, leatherman tool, notepad and a couple of pens and pencils. The perfect gadget bag and great value for money. Fabric is very hardwearing. Not waterproof but I usually put anything important in a plastic inner bag.
The waist belt adjusts from about 32 inches to over 45 so it should fit most people although I usually wear it over the shoulder, bandolier stylee. I've only given it 4/5 because the waist belt can come loose but a bit of insulating tape usually holds it in place for quite a while. For those that don't want military green it also come in black. Great bit of kit and highly recommended.
