Bought this to fit on a king size mattress rather than a "super king" and so it gives warmth right out to the edges. Very long leads mean that you can have both controllers together on one side of the bed - handy if there's just one of you! Nine heat settings does seem a little overkill but they're easy enough to use. Takes the chill off in 15 minutes and toasty within 30 minutes! Using this on top of a 3" mem. foam topper with no issues.

3 grumbles hence 4 not 5 stars:-
The 2 controller leads plug into either side of the blanket at shoulder height, 14 inches from the blanket side edge. If this wasn't a super king and therefore wider than my king size mattress, these plugs would definitely be too uncomfortable to put up with. This seems to be a common issue unless you go much more expensive.
2nd grumble is that although this does have a nice fleecy upper surface, you can still feel the wires running up and down the blanket underneath you. I have a mattress protector and a fitted sheet between me and "it," and the wires are still noticeable. I can live with it but some may not [a thicker mattress protector may sort this].
3rd winge is the tenner delivery on a £30 product. Admittedly very quick despatch/delivery thank you but would have opted for half that cost for normal delivery had there been a choice, moan moan.

All in all very pleased with this after a month of nightly use and at £40 incl p&p sold by "Snug As A Bug LTD," well worth the investment if it makes it beyond the 3yr warranty!

Likes:
1) Thick fleece that cushions the wires; 2) Instant heat - no need to turn on before going to bed; 3) Nine heat settings to choose from - I feel the cold a lot so started with 7, then decided on 5, but 3 is plenty warm enough; 4) Optional one hour timer so even if you fall asleep it will turn off automatically - brilliant; 6) We use the dual control on a king size bed and blanket is wide enough for my husband to have his side turned off and not roast because I've got my side on.
Dislikes:
1) Attachment point for flex is quite far into width of the blanket so would be next to shoulder which would be annoying. Have solved by turning other way round and having it by my feet and this is fine. 2) My husband is 6ft and he would have liked the heat to extend further towards his feet. I'm 5'4" and the heat stops around my ankles.

Why have temperature graded up to ten when it is barely warm on ten? Why describe as super-kingsize when only the central, basic double size area is heated and at least 12" down the edges are cold? Why does it take so long to heat up ?- I left it on 4 hours before it got warm, despite the promise of a ten minute heat-up on the dial. Why make the leads almost impossible to get out of the socket on the blanket without prising off with a blunt tool and risking breaking the catches? Why put the plastic blanket socket in the middle of the top edge just where your shoulder goes and not on the side? Moreover when I first put it on the bed, one side did not heat at all and we only got it to work by swapping the fuses from one side to the other. I regret buying this blanket and would love to return it but not sure how or if it is too late after purchasing, despite only having it on the bed for one night because it is so useless and putting back my cheap old kingsize blanket from Argos which is warmer and heats a larger area! Useless - do not buy.

Number 9 is ment to be preheat and get really hot however 9 doesn't seem to do anything on mine.
If I put it on the bed the way the instructions say with the connection at the top then they dig in your back as they are not on the outside edge of the blanket so I have put mine at the bottom and run the leads back up the bed.
I would like to know the running costs of the blanket as I put only one side on for enough to worm the bed (about 5 minutes on 8) for three nights and my electric usage seemed alot more on those days.
The blanket itself is lovely and soft, looks very good quality and was not expensive at £46 delivered however because I don't know how much it costs to run at the moment I just use it as a software under blanket.

I don't usually write reviews, but felt I had to on this, as it's so good. The price was a lot cheaper than other super king heated blankets, so I was a bit wary at first. But I needn't have been. The fleece material means you don't feel the wires at all (I've got a thin mattress protector & a fitted sheet over it). The length of the leads means that the part where they attach to the blanket can be at the foot of the bed (so you don't feel it under your body) but the controls can be placed on the bedside cabinet near your head. I have only used the lower settings, which give a nice gentle heat for the whole night, but as there are 9 heat settings (which is a lot more than the usual 2 or 3) I'm sure you can have it quite a bit warmer if you want. By pressing 1 button you can choose the option of it automatically switching off after 1 hour, but if you don't, it'll automatically turn off after 12 hours. So it's a brilliant product at a great price.

Love the fluffy under blanket that warms the bed even without having to use the electric bits. intact its so warming we didn't actually need to switch it on - and we have a really cold bedroom!

The only downside are the position, size and hardness of the plugs for the electric controls, no matter how we placed the blanket they always seemed to be in the way usually right under our heads.

Would recommend for comfiness and warmth but would suggest the manufacturer look at alternative positions or control attachments to improve the comfort
