1.0 out of 5 stars Deja Voyeur, 14 Jul 2008
Save time reading this book, and read Kevin Bisch's article "The Gang's All Here" in Salon online. It's basically the exact same story, except good. Better novels about porn are probably Irvine Welsh's "Porno" or "The Pornographer-General" F.U. Stein.

2.0 out of 5 stars Three things to know before buying, 14 Aug 2008
1. This is a very short novella (the text is printed in big type to make for more pages), you'll read it in an hour or so.

2. Once the paper seal is removed the book cover is pornographic. You won't be able to read this on the train, in the office, or whilst your children are around.

3. The 'story' doesn't even start to measure up to the author's earlier stuff. In comparison to books like Invisible Monsters or Survivor this book is very, very weak. There are no skewed ideas to play with, or off the wall revelations to ponder. Even without comparison to earlier books the principles of this short story are 10 years too late to be edgy.

Very disappointing all-round.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lost in a Sea of Men, 15 Mar 2009
By N. Sweeney (Hampshire, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I purchased this in the normal sense of thinking it will really hit on identities and sex and how the two mix along side of being fans and paid for sex.

All I found in it was just a three men and a woman talking about what they are doing at that point and reminiscing. Nothing short of something that could be adapted to a late night channel 4 program; which it almost is (I hate to say it but this is where Palahniuk has now dropped too).

I have found that other books divulging into the porn industry such as The Pornographer-General:\An Autohagiography being more up front and honest and at the same time surprising me than Snuff pulled off. Palahniuk

Snuff is bland and dull, and sorry for the pun in the title, but that's all it really is. Nothing really here to make you think other than "I hope Palahniuk doesn't carry on like this". I am dissapointed as a new unheard of writer of The Pornographer-General:\An Autohagiography has done (a hell of a lot) better.

I'll be perfectly frank: I did not expect to like Chuck Palahniuk's latest paperback release because of the sordid subject matter. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing.

2.0 out of 5 stars This book pretty much sucked
This is the second Palahnuik book I read. I read Fight Club. I enjoyed it. I didn't enjoy Snuff however.
It's just page after page of unconvincing, vacuous drivel. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Twaddle, tosh, and nonsense
I'm not a particularly cerebral bloke, nor am I very picky about what I read. But this, folks, is pretentious, badly written, and utterly without a single redeeming feature. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Same old story for Snuff
Snuff suffers from the problems that Chuck's other books have as well: all the characters have the exact same voice and none of them are very likeable. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars the darker side of life
