DVD Description

In 2004 a fine-art graduate from Bedford, near London, met a law principal from Chicago. Together they produced one of the most stunning, best-kept secrets in British comedy.

Matt Berry and Rich Fulcher (from the The Mighty Boosh) star as two hangmen. The pair spend their days hanging condemned souls for cash, chasing women and sitting in their rather posh gentleman's club sipping whiskey.

Snuff Box was only shown once, in early 2006 and couldn't air until 11pm because of the nature of the material. In spite of this, word spread and the cult was born.

Synopsis
Surreal comedy sketch show from Rich Fulcher and Matt Berry, better known for their outrageous roles in The Mighty Boosh. Features original music written and composed by Berry.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best comedy shows for years, 15 Dec 2008
Snuff Box is the brain child of Rich Fulcher and Matt Berry, who will be familiar to anyone who has seen The Mighty Boosh. Shown back in 2006 on BBC3, this surreal mix of sitcom and sketch show somehow escaped the mainstream. It's a real crying shame as it's without doubt one of the best comedy shows of the last few years, if not of all time. If you are a fan of surreal and dark comedy you will find this programme fantastic.

Why BBC3 seem happy to show endless repeats of banal shows like Little Britain and Two Pints of Lager, etc when they've got a jewel like this in their archives I really don't know. Maybe it's so anyone who likes it has to go out and buy it on DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Original Comedy, 21 Mar 2008
By L. Darke "Cerpin Taxt" (Doncaster, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is one of the best comedy series ever to have been written. It is surreal, dark, imaginative, and very, very funny. If you missed it on BBC3 then you have missed out thousands of yet-to-be catchphrases, quirky visits to the past, Rich Fulcher's constant barrage of filth and the general debauched rantings of 2 madmen let loose with your money. Cannot wait.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure brilliance!, 25 Aug 2008

I bought this DVD due to my interest in the Boosh, and I have to say it's the best DVD I've bought in ages! Absolutely fantastic!

Very original, dark humour, and Matt Berry and Rich Fulcher make a great double act. Lots of great catchphrases and interlocking sketches, and some very strange characters! Me and my sister have watched it over and over, and even took it on holiday with us! Pure original brilliance!

But as other reviews have said, it is definately not family viewing.

Granted, there are a few good bits but not that many of them. Very odd situations develop in even odder ways. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Snuff Box
Some stand out moments but it feels a little clunky to me. The gags aren't exactly thick and fast and the characterization is weak. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Something a bit different
I can see how some, on viewing half an episode may find this too peculiar for their funny bone, but with a bit of patience there's comedy gold nuggets to be had here. Read more
