This is a lovely book which never fails to bring a tear to my eye. Rachel isn't allowed to take the canal boat horse into school when the teacher invites the children to take in their pets, and her classmates tease her. That is, until they meet Snowy the horse on a surprise school trip to the canal. You can't fail to sympathise with the girl and then be proud with her when she finally gets the admiration of her classmates. It's very easy to read out loud and the illustrations are impressionistic enough to allow you to add your own detail. I bought this book because my daughter has the same name as the girl in the book, and I just love reading it as many times as I am asked!
