1.0 out of 5 stars neither romantic nor mysterious 16 July 2002
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
The synopsis promises intrigue, but the writing is pedestrian, the suspense is lacking and the romance is forced. The heroine and her bodyguard snipe at each other but find each other impossibly attractive, and succumb to each other's doubtful charms despite disliking each other. The villain is only sketchily drawn, and is not logical or internally consistent in his thinking. The denouement is embarrassingly predictable. All in all disappointing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, fast read but lacking suspense 15 April 2002
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Snowfall, by Sharon Sala is an enjoyable read that will have you sighing sentimentally but not trembling in suspense. Caitlin Bennet is a renowned mystery writer who begins receiving threatening letters. After an attempt on her life is made, security expert Connor "Mac" McKee is brought in to keep Caitlin safe. Tensions mount as the two self-admitted advisaries are trapped in Caitlin's New York apartment during a blizzard. Although the plot "twists" become extremely predictable, the relationships and bantering between Caitlin and Mac and some of the other supporting characters make the book worth reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not interesting, not mysterious 17 Oct 2003
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I just finished reading this book today. In general it's a good book but not that mysterious. For example, I sensed from the beginning that J.R. Neil is the one. There wasn't a lot of suspects in the story. As for the relationship between Caitlain Bennet and Connor McKee (Mac), I think it's somehow unrealistic. At the beginning, they hated each other guts and now suddenly and out of the blue, they're madly in love. The ideas in the book are repeated in other books such as the threatening letters, and the chopped rat. We can find these ideas in books of another author. On the other hand, I had fun reading this book and I spent nearly one week till I finished it today. I guess I wasn't that interested but I decided to finish it, so I did. If you're Sharon Sala's fan, then try to get this book.
