"Perhaps you need a better map or, more accurately, you need the collection of Country Lanes Cycling Guides from Goldeneye covering beauty spots from the Cotswolds to Cornwall, and carefully prepared to keep you on the bendy and narrow, rather than the fast and four-lane." --Sunday Times Travel
Product Description
Snowdonia is known as the 'Land of the Eagles' in Welsh and conjures up images of steep and craggy mountains crossed by rushing streams. Whilst this is true for the area around Snowdon, budding cyclists will be pleased to learn that just outside of this area, the terrain is fairly gentle. With a network of quiet country lanes, and a number of old railway tracks recently converted into cycle-ways, the choice of routes is excellent. Almost all of the routes on this map are found in this more gentle area. One or two are challenging and some have long uphill sections but most of the riding is not too difficult. And, when the sun shines, the magnificent views of mountains, moors, and the coastline will make your efforts worthwhile. As well as the 17 circular routes the map includes National Cycle Network Route NCN 8 which runs for 250 miles from Holyhead to Cardiff via Builth Wells. Also illustrated are traffic-free Family Cycle Routes; The Mawddach Trail, Lon Eifion Trail, Lon Las Menai and Rhos-on-Sea via Llandudno to Conwy. For those without bikes, 9 Cycle Hire Centres are also listed.
