4.0 out of 5 stars Snowbound with Love 19 July 2000
By Affaire de Coeur - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
A fierce snowstorm, a case of amnesia, a reclusive songwriter, a displaced journalist, and passionate nights are all ingredients for a fulfilling love story. Charlotte Thompson is returning home to Philadelphia after covering a story near the Poconos Mountains when she is caught in a snowstorm. She is discovered by the dog that belongs to Tyler Fleming, a songwriter/musician who has been living on a mountaintop alone since the death of his wife three years prior. Tyler nurses her back to health, and because they are unable to go anywhere because of the storm, they are forced to get to know one another in their close quarters. Tyler is amazed at how this woman whom he is calling Cleo because she reminds him of Cleopatra, has gotten under his skin and into his heart. She has made him trust again and open up. Charlotte, ever fearful because she cannot remember who she is or why she in that part of the state, too feels a sense of bonding with Tyler. She is frightened that when she regains her memory, the idyllic world they have created for the week they are snowed in will collapse. When she finally retrieves her purse from the car and Tyler sees her name on her driver's license, he is stunned. Charlotte Thompson is the photographer/journalist he holds responsible for his late wife's death. This story's finely paced plot and sensuous detail make this story line a fast-pace read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! 6 July 2000
By Debbie R. Sims - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
From the very first page to the time I closed the cover, Snowbound With Love, was an incredible read! Author Alice Wootson's first Arabesque novel is a winner!

Charlotte is a struggling writer trying to make it home from an assignment in the midst of a snowstorm in the Poconos Mountains. Traveling in a Geo with no cell phone in blinding snow is treacherous and leads to her getting lost and eventually coming to an abrupt stop...

She is "found" by Juno, musical composer Tyler Fleming's dog. Tyler brings her to his secluded hideaway where the heat and electricity are out due to the storm and keeps her from succumbing to hypothermia using the best heat in the world...body heat!

Between preparing meals together, making snow angels and snow families the two are well on their way to falling in love until Charlotte's identity, here-to-fore unknown to her because of the memory loss she suffered in the accident, is revealed.

She leaves Tyler, who is convinced that her accident, memory loss and relationship with him are all based on a lie....

Snowbound With Love drifts along at a comfortable pace and Ms. Wootson is a master at painting visual pictures with her words. The reader can feel the cold, wet snow and smell the popcorn roasting in the fireplace.

Run don't walk to your nearest bookstore to pick up Snowbound With Love. You will not be disappointed.
