5.0 out of 5 stars does not disappoint 21 May 2012
By Cloggie Downunder TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition
Snatched is an ebook short story in the Will Trent/Georgia series by Karin Slaughter. Will Trent is on airport toilet duty, hiding in a cubicle waiting for gay cruisers, as punishment for refusing to get a haircut. Bored almost senseless, when a man brings a little girl into the restroom, his cop's intuition kicks in, telling him something is amiss. With nothing more than a hunch, he tails the pair, alerts authorities and has one of the busiest airports in the country heading towards lockdown. While this is a short story, Slaughter's plot, characters and pace are first class; Will is his usual understated but competent self; Faith Mitchell manages to inject a little dry humour into a tense situation. This is a small dose of Will Trent to hold faithful Slaughter fans until the next full length Georgia novel, Criminal (of which there is a tantalising taste included in this ebook), comes out. Once again, Karin Slaughter does not disappoint.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short changed! 25 May 2012

I love Karin Slaughter's novels and especially those featuring Will Trent. I knew Snached was a short story but I got to 66% happy in the knowledge there was plenty more, only to find there wasn't. Instead there was my pet hate: 'read an excerpt from her latest novel'.
It should be illegal to do that and it always makes me feel cheated, which is not the way I want to feel after reading a good book.
And it is a good book-ett! Well worth reading, but brace yourself as you get to 65%: you are about to finish!

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait for July 14 May 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Karin Slaughters story telling is second to none, so even a short one takes you through the motions: fast-paced action, emotional turmoil, great dialogue. The story is written so that you can read this without having previously read any other stories involving Special Agent Trent (albeit a stripped down version of the character, no mentions of his past or present issues and short comings which make him so interesting). Best bit - I thought I had guessed the solution part way through but no, I hadn't and that's what I love about the author's stories, they keep you guessing until the very last pages.
Plus there is the bonus chapter of Karin Slaughters' upcoming novel this July.
This was much better than the last short story prior to Fallen which I found a little ... dark.
For couple of quid it'll whet the appetite of current fans and for those who don't know Karin Slaughters book, for that price give it a go, before you know it you're likely to be hooked on one of the best suspense and thriller writers out there.

I really enjoyed it but it was far too short! I wanted more! The suspense and tension was typical Slaughter.

4.0 out of 5 stars Karin Slaughter's usual good story telling
But - it's a short story and while I enjoyed it I think she could have developed it and made a full size novel of it. Read more
