Snatch: Guy Ritchie's second film is essentially a bigger budget remake of Lock Stock. But hey, when the formula works so well why change it? Statham here stars as Turkish, an underground boxing manager who is in trouble with the local gangster. A byzantine plot involving diamond heists, American gangsters, Vinne Jones as a person that `finds' people and Brad Pitt as a traveller and dynamite bare knuckle fighter follows. Ritchie directs with vigour and humour, and there is lots of pace, action and wit. A thoroughly entertaining film, with a cracking stoical central performance from Statham, seemingly unruffled as the whole world descends into chaos around him. 5 stars for this.
