Format:Audio CD
Crinkle? Felt titles are usually preopsterous. It's part of their charm. This gaudy bauble of a CD helps cement their reputation as wilfully obscure and just a bit daft. Ten tracks. All instrumentals. A total clocking time less than 20 minutes. So the tiltels are often longer than the pieces themselves, which range from Medieval sounding madrigals to exquisite ambient guitar driven ditties. A kind of reduced shakspeare company take on Floyd and Faust.

Buy it. No one else in your CD collection has produced such a thing. Guaranteed.

Let the Snakes Crinkle Their Heads to Death was released the same year that the Soviet Union put the Mir space station into orbit.

It's very well produced, but maybe too concise at 19 minutes running time. Standout (genius) tracks for me are:

- Ancient City Where I Lived
- Voyage To Illumination

This and Circuses and Bread (Remastered)make the mid- 80s for me in sound.

Felt were different - genuinely beautiful and obscure. In the mid 80s they provided me and my fellow classmates with a welcome relief from the daily torment of Bon Jovi played loudly on the school bus. This is a transcendental gem and still my all-time favourite album by a country mile. God bless you Lawrence.
