North Korea has long-range nuclear missiles and is ready to launch them at the United States.

Nuclear and chemical weapons sites on the Korean Peninsula must be destroyed before they are used against the West by maximum leader Kam and his Neo-Soviet allies, potentially escalating the fighting and forcing a break with the NATO alliance that could lead to global conflict with weapons of mass destruction in a final spasm attack.

Yet another blast-off thriller from Dave, the King of Action and Adventure, author of Under Attack, Threatcon Delta and Habu Patch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scores Big! 29 Nov 2010
By Kareem
Format:Kindle Edition
It's not that often that you find a thriller that delivers and doesn't wimp out in the home stretch. Snake Handlers is one of those efforts that keeps batting a thousand.

I'm of the opinion that an action thriller should be written from the standpoint of the author setting out to write a great book, period. No matter what the book's subject, or whether it's fiction or fact, that should be a writer's first goal.

Now, with a lot of other books, I haven't gotten that impression. But I've gotten it with Snake Handlers and with virtually everything else I've read under this author's byline. That's what keeps me returning for more.

Snake Handlers didn't disappoint, and that in itself would have been enough. Beyond that it kept gathering steam. That's an accomplishment, I can assure you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Right On Target! 16 Oct 2010

Snake Handlers is a fast-paced thriller, totally galvanizing in its scope, premise and unmistakable ring of authenticity. Every page hits the bulls-eye with a wallop you can feel.

5.0 out of 5 stars SHOVEL IT 29 Nov 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This was plain terrific.

Restored my faith in at least one man's ability to grab thriller writing by the throat and make it perform its mission while others slack off and take no risks, letting stronger writers fight on the front lines of creativity.

Sick and tired of reading thrillers written by the shovelful that I land up having to shovel out again like so much you know what.

You can count the decent attempts at writing a powerful thriller on the fingers of one hand. I am very, very glad to say that this is one such valid effort.

And yes, this is my honest opinion ... and I'm willing to stand up for it, just in case there happen to be any questions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth it... 22 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I thought this techno thriller was well worth reading, in fact I'll say I actually thought it was something like slickness on wheels. It featured a skillfully woven web of plots by power-mad leaders aided by totally inhuman henchman and armed with ultra-modern and near-futuristic super weapons. These unsavory characters were challenged by an air-land-sea alliance of world powers. A special ops team, whose specialty is getting rid of weapons of mass destruction before they can be triggered, is the world's ace in the hole. They, of course, are the Snake Handlers from which the thriller takes its name. The Snake Handlers represent a mixture of personality types and special skills that would make them the total envy of any other commando ops team assembled in most other thrillers or movies. Snake Handlers is a very smooth job of writing so I'll end this review here with the suggestion that it be read to be appreciated for the praiseworthy book it is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Thrill 24 Jan 2013
By Prowl
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Here's a terrific technothriller with an original and inventive premise and a daring plot that rushes along at a pace that would be dangerous if it weren't totally under the control of this gifted author who knows how to make everything mesh perfectly and dash toward a power finish.

In my opinion, as of this point onward Snake Handlers has definitely raised the bar for all other thriller fiction.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Was Excellent 7 Feb 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This was one heck of an excellent technothriller. Although its story was global and was based on special operations, conventional military operations and covert operations, as well as the political side, all the elements of the story were coherent and tightly held together, so that the plot never lapsed and the people in the book never seemed drawn out of character. Alexander's command of the intricacies of battle and the minute details of military technology also impressed me (here's a writer who obviously "knows his stuff"). I stress that at no time did any of this detract from the story. In fact I found Snake Handlers to be "story" at its finest.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Can Definitely Handle This 5 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Superb job. Wanted it to move at a slower pace so I could sort of sit back and take more of it in, but the plot raced along and carried me with it. Startling developments, such as the tricky way the weapons of mass destruction were developed and then hidden from even the most high-tech covert surveillance tools of NATO and the Pentagon, forcing Washington to assemble a team of highly capable yet highly unorthodox agents called 'Snake Handlers' because of their special skills for dealing with the serpentine coils of espionage and covert action as well as the snake-heads of nuclear mushroom clouds and like tools of modern mass destruction.

Many, many memorable moments in this book, and I'm afraid I might give away important bits and pieces of the complex yet gripping plot if I began to speak of them.

Suggest fans of this writer and newcomers who will certainly become fans see for themselves.
