This product has been reformulated, and has been dramatically improved!! It has a much nicer colour and consistency, and a more sturdy pot (with handles this time!) than before. Even better, it seems to work at a lower temperature (less burns), and be much easier to smooth on.
I would say this product takes a bit of getting used to, but is so worth it when you do! Just microwave the wax for 2:30, stir (I use a larger spatula that I got with a hair removal cream, rather than the stick, because you can get a much larger area with each application -- saves so much time! and gives a thicker layer which works much better) and wait until you can dip the tip of your finger into the wax without it being painful. Leave for another 2 minutes, then it should be at about the right temperature. Regular stirring helps, and stops a skin forming on the top.
I've found that the most effective way to do the leg area is apply against the direction of growth (apply from the bottom of your leg upwards), and rip it off towards the growth (pull from the bottom of the strip). With the bikini area, however, I find it less painful to reverse this - apply downwards, and rip off from the top of the strip. This may be different for everyone though, you have to find what works for you.
Yes, it hurts the first few times. Really hurts. I found taking a painkiller an hour before helped, as did applying Ibuprofen gel to the areas I was going to wax. The more you wax, the less painful it gets, and the finer and weaker the regrowth - I can now pull out my leg regrowth painlessly with my fingers! (I still wax, individual pulling would take far too long...)
I have used so many other hair removal products - razors have too quick regrowth, epilators are ineffective, and so many at-home waxes don't grab all the hairs and are pretty useless. This is the only hair removal product I have ever been satisfied with, and can see no reason to ever stop using it. It grabs almost every hair, can easily be re-applied if any are missed, and it's easy to remove any excess with baby oil. It is handily contained in it's own pot, and uses no fiddly, expensive strips.
But, absolutely best of all, ignore the "10 treatments" advice - if you put the used strips back in the pot, they can be re-microwaved and reused indefinitely! This makes this product immense value for money - my previous pot lasted 3 years (and then the pot split...). This price for 3 YEARS worth of all-over, long lasting hair removal is just insane! I would whole-heartedly recommend this product! Yes, it takes getting used to, and is painful at first -- but it's such good value, and becomes so second-nature to use, that I would say it was worth the initial effort for long-lasting results!
