A companion volume to Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking.
The common thread running through Allen Carrs work is the removal of fear - eliminating the phobias and anxieties which prevent people from being able to enjoy life to the full. Allen Carr's books include; Allen Carrs Easy Way to Stop Smoking, The Only Way to Stop Smoking Permanently, Allen Carr's Easyweigh to Lose Weight, How to Stop Your Child Smoking and The Easy Way to Enjoy Flying.
A successful accountant, Allen Carrs hundred-cigarettes-a-day addiction was driving him to despair until, in 1983, after countless failed attempts to quit, he finally discovered what the world had been waiting for the Easy Way to Stop Smoking. He has built a network of clinics that span the globe and gained a phenomenal reputation for success in helping smokers to quit. His books are published in over twenty languages and video, audio and CD ROM versions of his method are also available.
Allen Carr died aged 72 in 2006.
After 18 months I read the same book - it didn't work. I had too many negatives, and answers to the questions he posed.
I therefore took the plunge and bought this book. I took about 4 months to read it - lots of chapters & small print, and as other people have mention he does go on a bit, plus the knowledge that once I got to the end I would no longer smoke did not make it compelling reading. In the end I took the book on holiday with me and read it at every chance I could.
Needless to say I had my last cigarette on 20/4/02. Unlike last time I don't have weak moments and even when I do think of smoking (which is not very often) the thoughts are soon banished. I don't intend to start again.
If you value your health (& your pocket), buy the book - you really don't have anything to lose (apart from the small price of the book). You can alway re-sell the book on Amazon if your not impressed, but don't sell it without reading it first.
As an after thought - my boss, my husband, my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law and too many other people to mention, have all stopped smoking because of Mr. Carr. If he ever reads this, I would like to thank him and shake his hand. !!!! : - )
It was a scary thought at first thinking that I would never 'be allowed' to smoke again. Now I just don't need or want to.
Whilst reading this book I thought 'When is this guy going get on with it and press that magic button'. It was a long read and I was getting fed up with my work mates coming in to the smoke room and taking the mickey out of me for smoking whilst reading a book about stopping smoking. If I could have given up at the begining of the book then there would have been no need to buy the book in the first place. Needless to say.
They don't take the mickey anymore.
Buy this book if you have tried stopping in the past using will power or nicotine substitutes and I can guarantee that you will stop this time without being miserable and without needing substitutes.
Allen Carr truly understands everything about nicotine addiction and can help even YOU.
You do not need to read 'The Easyway to stop smoking' as is suggested at the beginning of this book. The method works without it. I am proof of that.
