Firstly, Amazon's listing is misleading. This is NOT an audiobook. It is just a book. A great book for sure, but there is no CD or DVD, and never was. Ian Gillan's PA told me (via email), "No there wasn't ever a CD with 'Smoke This'." Ian himself writes in the Foreward, "I have no idea what this book is for - oh yes! I remember now. It's supposed to contain a CD called Gillan's Inn. But that particular item got tarted up and coupled itself with a DVD [it became a dual disc] containing tons of intimate material delivered electronically, so rendering the book lonely and isolated."
Anyone offering this book for sale with a CD/DVD in the Used & New section is simply including the Gillan's Inn dual disc, which can be bought separately. There are two editions:
Gillan's Inn [Dual Disc]
Gillan's Inn: Deluxe Tour Edition/+DVD
So now you know! Anyway, buy the book because it's simply great. Mr. Gillan has a sparkling sense of humour and it contains many fun and fascinating writings, lyrics, musings, and an array of great photos (many in colour), taken from throughout his career and all printed on large format, glossy paper. It is by no means a biography, and was never intended to be, but it is no less interesting and relevant.
Also if you're wondering about the Gillan's Inn dual disc, personally I'd recommend it. It has an array of guest musicians including some Deep Purple members and is packed full of expertly written and played music, plus loads of other extras. It does make a nice companion to this book too.

Most of this book I found interesting. I would have liked more of the section that discussed certain songs and the story around them and less of his poetry (?).
The intro explains that this project was should have included CD and DVD and that would have been nice. He goes on in the into to say that if you have a coffee table, use this book to balance the shorter leg. Although I don't agree in total, I give it 3 stars because of the pure joy and entertainment IG has given me since the mid 60s and the fact that some of the read was a hoot. He has lived (and is living) a great life and would have enjoyed hearing more about it.

This is great material for the Ian Gillan fans. Cool pictures and excellent presentation. The info, is not that cool as you would like, but it has some fun quotes and thoughts from Ian and comments about iconic lyrics from several of his songs.
