An honorary fellow of the Guild of Railway Artists, John Austin also describes his own professional background.
About the Author
Before earning his living as a railway artist John Austin developed his appreciation of light effects as a professional lighting designer. He lives at Bridgnorth (home of the Severn Valley Railway) and Dawlish (where the main line to Cornwall runs spectacularly along the coast).

Beautiful book, really enjoyable read combined with the magnificent paintings by John Austin. So interesting to hear the backstory of both his life and the individual paintings. A treat for any art fan, especially those with an enthusiasm for steam.

This is the first collection of Mr Austin's work I have come accross having bought prints by him in the past. A splendid collection which favours the Western region but includes enough variety to make it worthwhile. Nicely printed with no split spine images as it should be.
