Smiths Elements of Soil Mechanics,

I was lent a copy of this book by a friend at work during a project I was involved with, after a couple of hours of reading I had to get my own copy. This book is very well laid out, well written and full of simple to follow examples.
A must for geotechnical and civil engineers.
