Product Description

These are Howard Smith's complete, unedited interviews with Eric Clapton, (recorded 10/24/70), and George Harrison, (5/1/70), remastered from the original audio reels. As a Village Voice journalist and radio personality, Smith recorded 100s of audio interviews with rock stars and icons. The original recordings then sat untouched and unheard in his West Village loft for 40 years-Until now.

5.0 out of 5 stars For uber fans of EC and George Harrison 22 Dec 2013

These are extraordinary interview, or more precisely, great answers to rather inane questions. Somehow, Smith with his inane and mundane questions, finds both these somewhat shy superstars in a vunerable, talkative mode. The answers are thoughtful, authentic and full of forthright feelings and opinions.

5.0 out of 5 stars historic. 2 Feb 2014

It was just at the break-up of the Beatles, and the interview with George goes to shows how they where handling it.
Then the interview with Eric was just as interesting. What the people writing the brief failed to point out that it was later
that year that Eric carried on a romance with George's wife and later Eric married her.

1970 was an interesting year for both Eric and George. It maybe worth getting out biographies of both men.

Fortunately I was around when the interviews took place, and heard first hand of the breakup and marriage of Eric.

All in all I say if you are a follower of both men, it is worth owning this C.D.

Ted Turner.
