Product Description

Product Description

The inspiring story of one man's journey through extremes of light and darkness to reach a place where he can be a smile on God's face for many people. Confined to a wheelchair, Philip Ilott's life radiates the compassion of a caring God, despite overwhelming odds. Philip's spirituality also clearly demonstrates that God has not put all his denominational eggs in one basket!

This is a book for all christians who, due to circumstances have had difficult times in life - more than will admit it. It looks at the life of a man who although had adversary did learn to trust in God. His problems were not solved the moment he became a christian but the strugle is all the way through the book. It has some funny bits of this mans life as well as the strugles. It is all written down in Plass style. It also describes some miricles which remind you there is a God written in a way that is clear and understandable. A must read.

As vicar of Holy Trinity Barkingside, an Anglo-catholic Charismatic church in east London, I would heartily recomend this book to all my congregation and to anyone who shares our vision and values.
In this book Plass movingingly tells the story of Philip Illot - from his childhood struggling with the horrors of sexual abuse through to developing his relationship with God, a relationship that eventually sees him serving as a priest. Plass presents the challenging paradox of a man whom God uses to perform literally miraculous healings for others and yet has to struggle with his own brokeness (both emotional and physical) that God does not heal. Why are some prayers answered so dramatically, and other prayers left equally dramtically unanswered?

An absolute must read 27 Mar 2002
Format:Hardcover
Best book I have ever read. A biography of a man who well strugles, not just christian and everything is ok sort of thing, but so real. This is undoubtably my favorite book ever. I was able to identify with the emotions feelings and hurts, Plass of course shows hummor within the story as well as the serious bits.
