Women can talk about mutual funds over lunch, too!, 29 Jul 1999
By A Customer
I'm a boomer and an artist, and I steadfastly avoid reading "how-to" books about where I "should-be" in my savings. Debentures sounds so much like dentures, that I steer clear of the whole Wall Street world. But David Bach's book, Smart Women Finish Rich, not only penetrated my "artistic curtain," but actually changed my woeful banking habits. His book is clear and precise, underscoring how any woman can be rich, regardless of salary. Kind of "it's-about-savings-stupid" love tap to the wallet side of your brain. Not only do I have an idea what mutual funds, bonds, stocks, T-Bills and T-Notes are, I've put together, for the first time in my life, a portfolio. And it doesn't stop there. Bach writes clearly about health and life insurance policies, and I'm currently reexamining my own. How can a person who comparison shops for canned tomatoes not do the same for insurance and pocket the difference? If you need help getting started on a savings program, don't miss this wise financial primer, written by a guy who handles portfolios worth more than half a billion dollars each year.

Very American-based, but still helpful, 2 May 2004
If you don't live in the US and don't have a 401k (pension), then some of this book might be difficult to read. But if you can read past that, then David Bach still has some valuable tips for you. Of course, most of it is sound logic: to get rich, the answer is (just) not in getting more money, but in spending less money. Simple, right? But David shows you some very easy tricks to make this actually happen, and save a small fortune in the end. By the way ladies... any idea how your household finances are doing? I do actually, and from what I hear from women around me, so do they. The assumption David makes that women leave the finances to their husbands, seems a little outdated. We're getting more and more into stocks, savings, investments and mortgages. Good luck with becoming a millionairess!

Knowledge is POWER!!!!!! This is a must have MASTERPIECE., 17 Jul 1999

This book is an incredible tool for financial planning. Reading this book made me confident and excited, and took away my fear of planning for my future. David Bach does an incredible job of explaining everything you need to know about financial planning, in a way that is so easy to understand. I have never in my life looked forward to saving money, but now that I have learned how money can grow over time, I am thrilled about saving! You do not have to be rich now to become VERY rich later! All it takes is knowing what to do with your money, and David Bach is an excellent teacher. Get this book immediately, and recommend it to all of your family, friends, and associates. I have told so many people about this book (men included). I have seen the same excitement it brought me, in the people I have recommended it to. David Bach writing this book has, without a doubt, changed my life forever. It truly scares me to think about where I was headed financially, had I not been so fortunate to learn of this masterpiece. Remember, knowledge is POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you David for sharing your knowledge with us.
