What a glorious book and what wonderful writing. I am such a fool as I've been eyeing this book for ages but only now got round to buying it - my loss! This is a lovely, lively and funny (so many laugh out loud moments) story with an attractive, likeable pair of leads in Derek (Knight) and Reece. He's a world-weary FBI agent with boss problems and she is a journalist aiming for the top. Their paths cross by accident when Knight is attempting to pick up some incriminating evidence left by a source and Reece accidentally acquires it. Then the fun begins...
These two can't keep their minds or hands off each other but you really love them for it. Even when they are being responsible - like when they realise they don't have condoms they are still so, so sexy. The author has created such a very appealing, everything you could ever want, hero in Knight - ulcer, gammy leg and all. Reece in her quest for her story insinuates herself completely both into Knight's life and the case that Knight and his colleagues are working on. The actual case is kept bubbling along nicely sometimes in the background and when necessary at the centre of the story. All the secondary characters play their parts to perfection and everything ends, as it should. Knight and Reece get the HEA that they deserve and the reader wants for them. My only two complaints are that the story had to end and that the interesting issue between Knight's colleagues Maddock and White was not delved into further (will say no more you just *have* to read the book!) Methinks they need a book of their own - hint, hint Erin McCarthy.
