It seems to be a good time for us comic book nerds at the moment, not only are there a number of comic based movies popping up, but DC is rebooting 52 of there more famous titles. Unfortunately amidst all this geeky excitement, we have had to say goodbye to one of the best comic based TV shows in recent times, Smallville. Smallville followed the adventures of a young Clark Kent (Tom Welling), who crashed to earth from the destroyed planet of Krypton some years earlier in a meteor storm, only to be discovered by The Kent's, Martha and Jonathan, who decide to bring him up as their own, and help guide him on his journey to becoming Superman. The first four seasons saw Clark try and balance the pressures of high school with the added stress of being an alien with superhuman powers, which he attempts to keep hidden from his friends, especially his on again, off again love interest Lana Lang and best friend (soon to be arch-nemesis)Lex Luthor. Clark always used his powers for good, even if those he saved didn't deserve it. As the seasons went on the show ventured into more adult territory, seeing the arrivals of other DC comic book superheroes and villains such as The Green Arrow, The Flash, Hawkman, Aquaman, Zatana, Doomsday, General Zodd and Clarks biggest challenge Darkseid. Towards the end, the show also focussed on Clark's career as a Journalist with The Daily Planet and of courses his inevitable love affair with Lois Lane. How can you not own this, it's a must watch/buy far almost anyone.
