An excellent little book which gives you a background from which to learn, however you will need much more than this to fly a helicopter though it is a great help if followed by a session on a simulator. I got the CML simulator for about £20 and found the book was almost a flying instruction manual. I've had many many crashes and it hasn't cost me a penny!! It is basically a beginners book and it would add little for the more experianced flyer.

I bought this book in an effort to understand more about rc helis, and it is a good book, made for the beginner. It is easy to understand and is written in plain english and not in heli speak. I bought a rc heli in an effort to aid with my poor eye co ordination (since I was told medically I would never be able to fly) and it is something I have wanted to do for years. The book discusses many points of rc helicopters, including coaxials, mechanics, servos, gyros, different radios, batteries, linkages, and learning to fly. As the title says, the book concerns itself with electric helis, not nitros.

Ideal little 'taster' book, with lots of general information and illustrations for a beginner. I enjoyed reading it, and it explained many of the technical terms and much of the jargon. Recommended, although technology marches on so quickly that it would need to be revised frequently!
