Product Description

From the Publisher

Hi. My name is Terry Kyle.

As a 43 year-old former advertising creative director and copywriter who's worked for clients like Pepsi, Kellogg's and McDonald's, I've met many passionate, sincere and determined individuals over the past 20 years who DESPERATELY wanted to set up their OWN small business and enjoy that professional FREEDOM.

But most of them never did.

Why?

Because virtually all of them were held back by FEAR. Different forms of FEAR.

The real PROBLEM that held back most of these aspiring entrepreneurs BURNING with RESTLESSNESS to CHANGE their lives and start building their OWN business was a combination of:

[1] a frustrating LACK of capital (and the FEARLESSNESS to go for it anyway),

[2] the FEAR of financial FAILURE,

[3] the FEAR of CHANGE, and,

[4] frustrating UNCERTAINTY about exactly WHICH small business could provide a STABLE, reliable income for themselves and their FAMILY.

Sound like YOU?

Are you FRUSTRATED that you haven't ESCAPED the 9-5 treadmill, CHANGED your life and opened your OWN small business YET?

FRUSTRATED that you didn't do it YEARS ago for some or all of the above reasons?

Well what if YOU were the very FIRST small business operator in YOUR local area to apply a brilliant NEW small business from ANOTHER part of the country or from the other side of the world?

And what IF that BRILLIANT new business approach was ALREADY going `GANGBUSTERS' and was ALREADY making REAL money for other REAL entrepreneurs?

What would YOUR life be like this time in 2009 if YOU could make the dream of the FREEDOM of having your OWN successful small business a REALITY because you were able to set up a dynamic NEW small business for very little money `back' in 2008?

Or will 2009 be just like 2007? Full of frustrating RESTLESSNESS?

If you ARE determined to CHANGE your life, find out about 400+ of the HOTTEST new small businesses and find out HOW to do it with very LOW financial risk, in this book, I show you how it can be done WITHOUT massive financial exposure.

Without this one-of-a-kind book with OVER 400 of the latest and greatest new small businesses - REAL businesses making REAL money - how else would you have KNOWN about these thriving NEW small businesses and BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES?

Here are THIRTY random new small business ideas from the book:

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty naff 6 Sep 2009
Format:Paperback
Most of the ideas in this book are pretty naff, or require major engineering and construction (indoor skydiving?!?!), or have been done in ways you'll never be able to and shouldn't bother trying (cheeseburger-in-a-can, for goodness sake)

Oh and most of the reviews here are fake, in case you hadn't noticed.

This book is not only 400 Business Ideas. It's more like two books for the price of one. It has excellent, detailed advice on how to set up and run a business cheaply but also profitably. In addition, it has a great directory full of the most exciting new businesses popping up around the world.

Good job! Great Value for money!

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Value for money 1 July 2008
Format:Paperback
Simple and concise book which include a lot of information and references which I am sure the writer must have spent a lot of research to gather them.

As an Accountant, it is important to advise our clients to know what are the biggest mistakes that small businesses make, which is exactly what the book starts from.

The X-files section will allow reader to see how simple concepts can be used in a business venture. ie if others people can do it , why can't you!.

The 50+ web resources in the book will be useful for people who starts up business.

Busy accountants will find this a good read without spending too much time. Also, the book can be used as a reference guide to advise clients and even a good recommendation for our new small business client.

This is an amazing book which is very easy to read with clear and concise ideas, it has a lot to offer in the current credit crunch market as there are no shortages of business ideas and the set up costs are minimal which makes it affordable for both the consumer as well as the retailer.

I found that this book illustrates the basic mistakes that fresh new entrepreneurs make at first which means that we can have a head start in starting up one of these innovative ideas.

This book also gives a broader sense of knowledge for all levels of the working hierarchy. These include from a manager's perspective what to look for when hiring and firing employees and how different motivational theories can reward the employee.

The quotes that have been incorporated are very inspirational.

The layout for the "Micro-Mastery" chapter is very well presented as the points are brief and to the point, and each point begins with a bold capital letter that draws your full attention to that statement and keeps your attention span there, fantastic layout.

Fantastic book well thought of Terry and an easy reference book that won't be dated.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Small Business Ideas ! 30 May 2008
Format:Paperback
This is a brilliant book, which has many wonderful promising small business ideas, some of them very innovative and pioneering.
The ideas are well structured and very well presented with a brief introduction along with a balanced evaluation. The writer has also included examples of existing enterprises for each of the ideas wherever available.
Apart from the business ideas itself, the book also has quite a few interesting and eye-opening sections such as "The Biggest Mistakes that Small Businesses Make" which most entrepreneurs would miss out on and end up in serious problems. The other good section with which I was so impressed by was the " 10 Ways To Save Thousands of Dollars in Your Small Business".
It would be worth mentioning here that Kyle has indeed done a great favour to future entrepreneurs by providing a good overview and initial guidance on a business start-up.
This book would certainly be a valuable investment and an interesting read for those who would be considering a career change from job environment to running a small successful enterprise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 31 July 2010
Format:Paperback
A true measure of a books worth is not how much you've enjoyed it by the time you finish that last page, rather its how long it can stay on your shelf before you begin to resent the space that it is taking up. Sherlock Holmes can sit up there for the next 100 years, but I'm starting to fall out a little with the Da Vinci Code.

400 Small Business Ideas has a good few years of shelf safety left. Even after 1 year I still find myself flicking through and making pencil notes in the margin. Well researched, interesting, inspiring, even funny. This book works on a lot of levels. A keeper.
