4.0 out of 5 stars Teasingly sexy and sweet romance 15 Jun 2008
By josie82 TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Maddy Turner is in a bit of a mess. She's about to bid a hefty amount of money at a charity bachelor auction to stop her father's latest wife from bagging herself a sexy, single man. And the man she must outbid her stepmother for is none other than a European gigolo.

Sexy, all-American paramedic, Jake Wallace, has no idea that a mix up at the charity auction has left the bidding ladies convinced that he is a male escort. When he is won by the deliciously sexy Maddy - he is sure he's onto a good thing.

But Maddy has been burned before and it's going to take all Jake has to convince her to give him a go. And of course there's still the fact that Maddy is sure that Jake is only with her because he's being paid to.

I am a huge fan of Leslie Kelly and I was happy to see her with a new book in the Wrong Bed miniseries (a series that started off in the Harlequin Tempatation line). This is the first of two books, the next being Heated Rush.

I definitely did enjoy this book as it was fun, sexy and interesting. Maddy and Jake were a good couple and despite all the confusion and misunderstandings - they did have some good chemistry. As such, the sex scenes were teasing, sexy and very hot.

The conflict in the story wasn't as clichéd as it could have been - which is always a good thing. However, by removing the 'obvious' conflict, this meant that the story was fairly slow paced and was very much character focussed despite the quirky premise.

Overall, it's perhaps not Leslie Kelly's best book but it's still exceptionally well written with a fun storyline, likeable characters and some naughty sex. Definitely recommended. 4 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars I bought this? 20 Dec 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Ok, I did buy it, and read it on my phone as an experiment with the Amazon Kindle app, I can't remember a thing about the book except it got a bit steamy. Look at the cover, says it all really.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Loved This Book! 26 Sep 2010
By Erica Reid - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I just read this book on my Blackberry Kindle (getting a real Kindle in a few weeks) and this is one of the best romance novels I have ever read. I have been reading this while sitting behind my desk at work. I started this book at 4:15 p.m and finished at 11:02 p.m. I still cannot believe what a suspenseful page turner this was. I loved the attitude of Jake. Madeline was quite the character as well, thinking Jake was a gigolo. I had to remember I was at work to keep from laughing too loud because there were some funny points here. One of my favorite parts was picking Jake's sister up and she asking Madeline if her ex, Oliver, cheated on her with a man because his name sounded gay. I mean, I do not laugh at gay people, but that was too much, I could no longer contain the laughter. It is rare in these romance books to add such color and personality to the characters, but this author mastered that beautifully. I was still shocked that this book was free because I would have gladly paid $6.99 for that. I hope this author does not stop because this book was too good. If I could rate it more I would, but since we stop at 5, that is what this novel will get. Cannot wait to start a new book, as I am searching the Kindle store now, because I have 50 more minutes at work!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pasionate, hot and steamy...and a quick read to boot 8 Sep 2010
By Steeler Fan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I am not one to read romance novels on a regular basis; however, this book really appealed to me. At times the plot did get convoluted, but as is the nature of romance novels, love is suppose to win out in the end. As for the steaminess of this novel, all I can say is that I may begin reading more romance novels for the passion depicted in this book was deliciously steamy.

This was indeed a good read.
