I recall this film from years ago - event though I was only born the year before it's release.
Having seen it at least 10 times and never tiring of it I was glad to find the soundtrack released on cd at last!
The tale of Cinderella with a couple of twists - beautifully told along with songs by Richard and Robert Sherman ( also noted for Disney music ) - the soundtrack contains all the songs from the film and the inlay booklet contains full lyrics too ! The comical "What has love got to do with getting married?" to the moving and heart felt "Tell him anything ( but not that I love him )" - songs to bring a smile to your face and at times a tear to your eye.
Like I said if you love the film then you must own this cd ! Amazing !

There is not a single song on this soundtrack that is not absolutely gorgeous! My particular favourite is "She Danced With Me/He Danced With Me".. who hasn't felt that way when having their first dance with the love of their life?!
I would highly recommend this CD to anyone who loves the story of Cinderella, or who just enjoys listening to good music!

What a beautiful album, filled with all the music from the fairy tale "Slipper and the rose". If you are a big fan of the film, then this is a definite must have piece of memorabilia.
Listening to it for the first time, the recording is so perfectly true to the film, and even thought the words are not on the cd, you find yourself speaking in the gaps.
Without question, this something needed by all those romantics out there and all those who have grown up with "Slipper and the Rose". Buy now.

If you liked the film, you will love the soundtrack..
This is the surprisingly memorable soundtrack to the 1980's semi musical updating of the Cinderella story starring Richard Chaimberlain, Michael Hordern and Jemma Craven among others.
The songs are all quite memorable, in particular "When he danced with me" - a sort of fantasy waltz, and the one most people will recognise - "Protocoligorically Correct".
Listening to the soundtrack brings back the whole film very vividly. This is due some sort of camp cult re-working soon - perhaps we will see people having "Slipper and the Rose" parties like they do for the Sound of Music...?
Maybe just me, then...

I love this film, although to young to have seen it the first time round it was one of My Mum's favourite films as it is now one of mine.
Hence, I HAD to get this soundtrack, My favourite song would have to be "Tell him that it wasn't love" call me dramatic but I have always loved that scene where the rose falls apart! Gemma Craven has the most wonderful voice, as does Richard Chamberlain.
As previously said if you love the film the cd is a must! Perhaps for when you're doing the house work and can't quite watch the whole film the magic can still be felt via the soundtrack.
But be warned the songs stick in your head and even if you haven't seen it, or heard it for quite a while you still find yourself humming your favourite song! How many films/soundtracks can you say that about them?

I've always loved this film, being an old romantic at heart, and to finally be able to get my hands on the CD of the soundtrack is perfect. I can now enter a happy bubble of music whilst at work and suddenly my day seems a whole lot better as a result. It's got the complete score on the CD and is a must for all fans of the film.

I have always loved the Sherman Bros. and what they have delivered here is some of the best in the business.
This is the best musical ever and I love and know MANY musicals.
Everybody doing there own singing in the movie is truly a gorgeous highlight, and the soundtrack is essential if you love the film and even if you haven't seen it, all you need to know is that this score is truly stunning, with amazingly witty lyrics, and beautifully Romantic lyrics that will fill your soul completely, also it got 2 Academy Award Noms. Richard Chamberlain has one of the best voices I have ever heard, and Gemma Craven's voice is soft, pure, as well as strong and feminine.
A joy to sing and listen to whatever you may be doing, you will find this soundtrack truly magical. I did, so please buy it while you still can.
