I bought this based on the above review, but I have to disagree - this will take a lightweight SLR with a long lense if you keep it upright - as soon as you angle the camera downwards, or upwards the ball head is not able to take the weight and slips. Send this back and bought a Manfrotto Modo instead - does not have the nice rubber leg covers but feels lighter and is certainly more robust when extended - plus the head can take a big camera.

Slik Tripod........what a great Tripod, compact, lightweight and it will take a DSLR with 70-300mm lense and cokin P series filter system all within the allowable tripod weight baring.
Very versitile, so pleased with it. You can also buy different heads for the tripod.

I've tried this tripod with a heavy pinhole camera and it worked great. It's actually smaller folded than the product description. The ball head can be unscrewed, leaving the folded tripod at just 12 inches. Definitely the best travel tripod at a reasonable price.
