If you are looking to move heavy furniture around, then this is the product for you. The 2 inch diameter glides are large enough to spread the load without sinking too much into carpet or vinyl and the rounded edges, with teflon coating on them mean that even if you do sink in slightly then this is still not a problem. Smaller glides just do not work with heavy furniture.
Please note that I have not tried them out on wood or laminate flooring, but see no reason why they would caused a problem.
One problem that I have found with this sort of product in the past is that if they are only held in place with self adhesive pads, then they can come off when you least want them to. Even with teflon, there is still a reasonable degree of resistance to moving (your furniture will not go sliding all over the place like an egg in a non-stick pan) and this can be enough to cause the adhesive to fail and one or more glides get left behind as the furniture starts to move.
These particular glides have a metal plate sandwiched between the teflon surface and the self adhesive backing pads, giving them both strength and rigidity and also allowing them to be screwed firmly to the feet of the furniture.
The feet on my sofa/corner unit actually have holes in the centre, where thy bolt up into the base of the unit. These glides are strong and large enough to span these holes and I first screwed them to a short length of the right size wooden dowel, which locates into the hole, so that they can never 'slip off' if the adhesive fails.

I do not believe this product is as described in that it is advertised as Teflon coated, I do believe them to be just plastic!!! I have tried them under an appliance on a vinyl floor and they have dug into the floor. Had they have been teflon this would not have happened and I speak from experience. I have to say, I purchased these over and above other "PTFE" (or teflon) coated gliders which I have used before, as I thought these were a lot cheaper for basically the same thing. Obviously I was wrong and you get what you pay for!. I am not sending these back however, I am sending these off to trading standards as I believe you are misleading the consumer.

Having struggled to move our heavy leather settee, as well as other furniture, I discovered this product whilst searching for an answer on the internet. The difference between this product and other similar products, is that these can be screwed on, eliminating the sometimes annoying habit of stick on glides coming off at inopportune times! We were very easily able to enhance the feet of the settee with the screw on, and I can't recommend them enough. The heavy struggle I have had every time I need to hoover behind, or when changing postiton of the furniture has been totally eliminated. We now have these on most of our furniture, including wardrobes. I am recommending this product to all and sundry, my daughters have all been persuaded to try, as well. We are all, without exception, delighted.

FURNITURE GLIDERS
These gliders work well on heavy furniture as well as light. It is an excellent idea to have a hole in their centre to enable the use of screw.

Does the job well

Stick 'em on the legs of your tables!
