Book Description

25 Nov 2008
With nine years of marriage down the drain, Chicago native Nick Stewart leaves the city behind in search of solitude. He heads for his most cherished place in the world to heal and live the rest of his life alone. Little did Nick know that God's plans were different from his own. Sleepy Valley is a small mountain village in the heart of the Tennessee Smoky Mountains that Nick loves. But instead of peace and quiet, he can't seem to avoid meeting everyone in the little mountain village. Within a week, he's got two beautiful women chasing him, a new best friend, and a little puppy to boot. It seems Nick didn't pick Sleepy Valley, but God picked the town for him, and what God has in store, Nick never could have imagined. Author Tim Callahan takes readers on a journey through heartache, laughter, and everything in between as Nick finds God's healing through true love and true friendship in Sleepy Valley. A break from his successful Kentucky Summers series, Tim Callahan gives readers this new novel of romance and comedy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peace in the Valley 17 Jun 2009

Mr. Callahan's Sleepy Valley will transport even the most cynical, harried, and conflicted reader to a place of comfort, peace, humor, and all that makes humans so special. His writing style is straightforward, breezy, and embraces charm and warmth. If we could find our own Sleepy Valley we all would be better off. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Sleepy Valley.

This is truly one of the best books I've ever read. Did not want to put it down. All the people were so warm and real and caring. Makes a person want to find Sleepy Valley and move there just to be part of it. Thank you Tim Callahan. Keep books like this one coming. I had gotten this from the library and enjoyed it so much, I purchased it to always have it available to me and to share with others.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Keeper 21 April 2011
By Virginia G. Vassallo - Published on
Sleepy Valley by Tim Callahan, author of the Kentucky Summer Series, was a very difficult book to put down. I didn't want to stop reading. The reader is immediately drawn into Nick's life. Following a recent, heartbreaking divorce, Nick moves from Chicago to Sleepy Valley, a very small town just fifty miles northwest of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. His plan is to avoid involvement with people while living alone in his cabin on fifteen acres of land. However, God has a very different plan for Nick.

As I read Sleepy Valley, I felt like I was right there with Nick, Vincent, Trudy and Gabry, watching as their lives changed from lonely to filled with love and happiness.

This book is definitely a keeper.
