This is a great disappointment when viewed compared to '66 to '71 Kinks (excluding the weak 'Percy' album of '71), but has one of their best post-'72 tracks: 'Prince of Punks', which retains some of the remaining lyrical strength. The other strong tracks here are those of a rock band with recognizable traces of the Kinks'/Davies thoughtfulness and undiminished strength with a tune, on 'Sleepwalker', 'Stormy Sky', 'Life Goes On' and 'Full Moon'.
The words are weak throughout the album other than 'Prince of Punks' but the song 'Sleepwalker' makes great driving music, 'Stormy Sky' is very warm and 'Life Goes On' benefits from the lines:
"Tornado, cyclone and hurricane
Can batter the houses with the thunder and rain.
Blizzards can blow; the waves hit the shore,
But the people recover and come back for more."
