5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining comtemporary romance 28 Aug 1999
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
When he turned twenty-one, Hogan Kodiak left his family's Montana ranch, vowing never to return in spite of his love for his home. Before leaving, he wondered whether his younger siblings would be safe once he is gone. He realizes their father Ben prefers his all-white son rather than a half-breed like Hogan, but still he wonders how hard the old man will be on his half-siblings. Still, it is the time for the outsider to start his own life.

Eighteen years later, Hogan returns to the ranch to protect his half-sister Carly from a stalker and to finally learn the identity of his biological mother. In the interim that he was away, Hogan attained fame and money, but within the Big Bar K Ranch, he feels more like an intruder. He also finds himself struggling with his growing attraction to Carly's best friend Jemma Delaney, a person with her own demons. As Jemma and Hogan try to keep Carly safe, they fall in love with one another. However, commitment frightens both of them as they struggle with personal traumas in their effort to obtain a loving, long-term relationship.

Fans of contemporary romance will spend a sleepless night in order to complete Cait London's entertaining tale in a one bedding read. The enchanting story line centers on the inner turmoil of the charming lead characters that desperately want but fear love. The support cast provides understanding to the motives of Hogan and deserves their own tales. Ms. London scores high with this passionate character-driven delight.

5.0 out of 5 stars A definite keeper 20 Nov 1999
By "lsmith5379" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Sleepless in Montana by Cait London tells the story of the Kodiak family, a family forged by the land and secrets. Eighteen years before a monster had attacked one of them and now he had returned to their lives, determined to finish what he started. Brought together by Jemma, a woman who had adopted them for her own as a child, Ben, his ex-wife Dinah, his sons Hogan, Mitch and Aaron, daughter Carley and Jemma come together to form a living shield of protection. This family has to face and banish the very things that had pulled them apart so long ago, to learn to respect and love again the things that united them as a family. Murder, stalking, lies, truth, love and a woderful family drama are all here in this excellent story from Ms London. I expect a good story when I buy a book by Cait London. This one more than delivers. I started reading it at 11PM waiting for the meteor shower and finished it at 5AM, totally missing the meteors! A definite keeper for me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Falling Asleep at My House 11 Dec 1999
By Yvette Niesel - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I, too, have read Cait London before and loved her writing. In fact, I had a standing order for this book as soon as it came in. I found that for at least the first half of the book everyone talked in riddles like they were in a therapy session and were trying to say what was expected. I was bored to tears until Jemma and Hogan finally got something going, but then afterward everything went weird again. I cannot recommend this book. Try her earlier books, they were much better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sleepless in Montana kept me up turning pages! 12 Feb 2000
By Holly Fuhrmann - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
If I wasn't a fan of Cait London's already, this book would have made me a convert. Hogan Kodiak grew up hard -- rock hard. He's used his past as an excuse to put a barrier between himself and the rest of the world, even his family. There's only one person who seems able to chip through his defenses, Jemma Delany. She's determined to bring the Kodiak family back together -- and that includes Hogan. But in the end, she does more than bring Hogan back, she let's him into her heart and Hogan, despite his best intentions, finds that Jemma's become the center of his existence. Woven throughout a fantastic love story is a mystery. Who attacked Hogan's sister years ago, and why is he still stalking her?

Cait London tells a page-turning tale of reconciliation -- the reconciliation of the past, the reconciliation of a family torn apart, and the reconciliation of two hearts meant to be together.
