Oct 1992
An enormously successful and charmingly illustrated book of poems that take the fear out of nighttime demons.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great young readers book 9 April 2002
My two year old loves this book. It is a great bedtime story because you read it in a hushed way naturally by the way it is written.
"And so I must tip toe, tip toe, soft as I pass."
It is a great story about a young girl that is trying to get downstairs to her mocha maple choclate cake. On the way she has to be careful not to wake a variety of dragons. All the dragons have different personalities and characteristics. The only one I object too is beezelebub (my spelling may be wrong.) I don't think a character in a childrens book should have a satanic name. Although I am sure she only only used it to rhyme with tub.
Besides that part I greatly enjoy reading it with my son.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have book and a GREAT bedtime story for ages 2-10! 3 Aug 1997
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This book has been my son's favorite since he was two. It's use of the English language is fun. The words just roll off of your tongue. The names of the dragons are simply wonderful -- Beelzebub, Ching-Chung, Jebediah Jones, Pythagorus.

I would recommend this book for bright pre-schoolers and for all kids who demand more than picture books! It's a great read for child and for parent.

It's definitely worth the wait (out of print)!

Sleeping Dragons All Around is a delightful, rhyming tongue-twister that absoutely enchanted my young children! It is humorously yet beautifully illustrated which enhances its attractiveness to children of all ages. It also helped my 2 year old son to overcome nighttime fears of the dark and of monsters. I highly recommend it.
