As a regular tennis player i have tried and tested many different balls and found this to be by far the best, they can be picked up for just under a £1 a ball and though slightly more expensive then say a "head" variety they play and wear superbly well for a much longer time,
My tennis partner and i have had around 12hours playing out of 8balls so far and they are still in decent playing condition but we will replace them soon and demote to practice balls
BUY some of these if your looking for quality tennis balls with a superb playing life
These are the balls of choice for me and my tennis buddies. We play on hard concrete courts and they bounce great, are firm, and possess great visibility. Just a shame I lost one over the fence the second I used them!
I bought this product as an experiment to see if there is a quality difference from what I get in SportsDirect in a much lesser price. No difference. I got the same stuff from SportsDirect at half the price I bought it from Amazon, why waste money?
I've used these balls for a while now and when I saw they were being sold via Amazon at just six quid for four, I bought two lots. They took about a week to arrive in the Netherlands, which is about average. So I'm quite pelased overall.
Like the previous reviewer's dog, my Jack Russell, Harry, is also an expert ball-killer. But in spite of his best efforts while playing ball for many hours over the last few days, the ball is still perfectly intact! They're wonderfully bouncy balls, much better than any ball you'd find in a pet store. I think Harry may make an appearance as a ball dog at next year's Wimbledon!
Some several many weeks ago I found a Slazenger tennis ball whilst out on a site visit and thought that our dog, Freddie, would like to have it to dismember so in my bag it went. Freddie, needless to say, was delighted with my find and after allowing us to throw it for him a few times, he settled down to his modus operandi of tennis ball destruction. Like the other reviewers hounds, Freddie can peel and shred the average 'dog' tennis ball in under 2 minutes. This time was different! Three days later the ball was still in one piece, no punctures and unpeeled (despite his best efforts). I was thrilled, especially as it was a found ball.
We then went on holiday and found the ball to be a most excellent choice for lobbing into the North Sea for retrieval porpoises for Freddie ... right up until the point that hubby threw it too far and Freddie lost sight of it in the waves. Despite us pointing and waving towards it, the poor lad just couldn't spot it and he ended up coursing along the waters edge looking for it - very distressing for all concerned. We all sadly watched as it gently bobbed away towards the Farne Islands (except for Freddie of course who was still running up and down the waters edge).
Upon returning home I did some searches for Slazenger tennis balls and happened upon this listing and associated reviews. After mopping the keyboard dry after a laughter/coffee interface I decided to venture £5 on 4 balls - cheaper than the doggy versions so what did I have to lose. The balls arrived yesterday and I have to say that I am, once again, impressed by the durability of these balls.... Freddie has chewed, attempted to peel and generally abused the ball given to him yesterday and other than 'the bad hair day' look it now has, it's still intact 24 hours on, bounces wonderfully and is his new bestest toy (he slept with it last night and it's not been out of his sight once). Needless to say he's not overly willing to give it to hubby to play with, despite us living 80 odd miles from the nearest seashore!
I therefore have no hesitation in comending these balls as superb dog toys - forget the nets of balls from your local pet emporium, equip yourself with these little beauties, similar price perhaps but much, much better quality and wholeheartedly Freddie Approved.
Oh, and I suspect they're quite good for playing tennis with too, but I'm no expert on that.Read more ›
I thought I was the only person who buys professional tennis balls for the dog! I thoroughly agree with all the other reviewers - these are great, 100 times better than pet shop balls and last for ages. My attention-seeking little pest will leave me in peace and sit for hours in the evening trying, unsucessfully, to kill his ball. He is also a Jack Russell named Harry!
