The search for the Claire Bible continues and along the way the Slayers come to sveral dead ends and false leads, much to their annoyance but often to the viewers amusement. The third volume of Slayers Next sees another 7 episodes of the crazy anime and give us the usual anecdote of comedy and action. The lot of episodes on this disc are stand-alone and are mainly for comic relief as Lina and her ragtag crew seek out clues and possible leads regarding the elusive and powerful tome they seek. The first of which involves Lina and Amelia donning cute tut outfits in order to undergo a ceremonious dance and song that they 'believe' will get them the Claire Bible. No doubt, hilarity ensues. After this the crew go to a mysterious and creepy mansion where they must tackle a plethora of obstacles in order to get to the finishing line, and if they mess up, they get transformed into dolls. Further epiosdes also include a humourous, magical tennis tournament and another bout of cross dressing on Zelgadis' and Gourry's part.
After this, the story reaches a new turning point with another big villain entering the fray. The mighty, muscle bound, Gaav who is one of the evil lord Shabranigdo's henchmen. This new antagonist stirs up trouble when the heroes are just within reach of the Claire Bible. Thus Lina strives to take down this foe, however, after seeing a vision of her Giga Slave going out of control and killing her friends, things become alot more complicated.
The seven episodes found on this disc are as follows.
14.The forbidden dance? Where is the strongest spell?
15.A big crash? The battle at artemay tower!
16.Bitter curve balls! Gutsy fast balls!
17.They're talking about a girl named Zelgadis?
18.The temple of the sand! The secret of the giga slave!
19.Disclosure at last? Xellos' true form!
20.No other choice! Set course for dragon valley!
So far, Slayers Next has been more entertaining and even funnier than it's predecessor. With just six episodes left of this season, can the series go out on a high? After this volume I'd say yes! Things are really starting to heat up and we can definetly expect an epic and explosive finale in the next disc to come.
