What a cracking little movie this is!!! I am a long time fan of the original and was almost expecting dissapointment but when you get away from the fact that apart from a few props being the same as the original movie (i.e. the uniforms, the home town and the Hanson Bros.) and watch it for what it is... which is not a real sequel but a comical ice hockey romp in it's own right..... it's absolutely fab.... Does the same for Hockey as Major League did for baseball....
Plenty of laughs, babes and most importantly... hockey!!!!
Buy it and enjoy it!

Why? That is the question that must be asked. The first film was really something special, one of the great sports movies. This is far from that. It tries hard, but the story itself is poor, completely lacking depth, believability or any originality. Stephen Baldwin is unconvincing, and Gary Busey just goes through the motions. The Hansons are the only good thing in it, and they only have bit parts.
This film just continues the trend of dreadful sporting sequels, like Caddyshack 2, and Major League 2 & 3. Pray to god they don't try for number 3 on this. Grab a beer, and watch the original again.

It could never match the original, which is probably the best sports movie of all time. But it's OK. Avoid the third installment though.

Same stuff
Tries to work off the first film but fails in interesting the viewer I believe.Don't expect it to be like the original cult film.

aaaaaaarrgghhhhhh!!!
Truly awful. Avoid like the plague. Buy the original and enjoy forever. Don't even imagine this is anywhere even simlar in style to the original. Struggling to give it one star.

Sequel as enjoyable as the original
As a fan of the original Slapshot movie, I was a little dubious about a sequel. But I was not disappointed!
The return of the Hanson Brothers was a delight. Read more
