Now here's another genius invention from those ever-so-clever American johnnies that's straight out of the why-didn't-we-think-of-that file. The Slanket takes an everyday conundrum - staying warm on the sofa when you haven't got (a) a boyfriend, (b) a girlfriend, or (c) a winter fuel allowance - and responds to the challenge with typically American aplomb... namely taking a couple of existing ideas and, to coin a phrase, hybridising them. Think of the Slanket as a genetic cross-breed between a fleece and a blanket and you're there. Alternatively, one may think of it as Big Daddy's dressing gown. A fluffy house coat. A Jedi cape, without the hood. The Slanket is, in short, a gigantic fleece blanket with sleeves. Pop it on and disappear inside its cuddly massiveness and be enveloped by its sheer fleeciness. Then simply pop Friends on the DVD. Open a massive bag of Maltesers. And who needs mates? Soft to the touch, lightweight and warm, it's got large, loose sleeves so you don't actually feel you're wearing it. Which might defeat the purpose, but who are we to argue? Spiffing.

Am recovering from some pretty heavy duty surgery at present and this was my very best Get Well Gift. It is really large and although I am quite small it easily wraps around my 6 foot 15 stone husband with fleece to spare!
I have used it whilst resting in bed with arms through, just over me as a light warm throw and even as a very snuggly presence when I was a bit low!
Great thing is when I am well, it will still be used all the time as a lovely evening snuggle up.

I bought this as a birthday present for my wife. She really feels the cold, is pregnant and as we're coming into Winter I thought she'd like it. She doesn't just like it, she loves it and tells me that it's the best present she has ever received.
These are HUGE, very warm and comfortable. With a dressing gown you have a belt wrapped around you that can feel constricting. A Slanket, is basically a thick, fleecy blanket with sleeves in it :) These really are well worth the money and I'll probably buy another one as a present for a friend of mine.

My wife is very, very happy with this. She loves being warm and the Slanket definately keeps her warm. When she is warm she is happy, and that is a good thing for me.
