I purchased this item so that I could use an expensive digital alarm clock with time zone switching, (bought in the USA), on cruise ships. Some use 240 volts and others use 110 volts. I can now use the clock on either system, as well as in England and on the Continent.
It is small and convenient to carry and works perfectly. I am extremely pleased with this product.

I bought a Nintendo DS in Florida about a month back, and bought a US -> UK adapter but i needed a step down converter.
This one worked great.
There's no chance of going anywhere near 45W, i think the DS does around 1W if that lol.
So if you went abroad and bought a PSP, DS, Camera's etc. so anything electrical that needs charging this is a good choice for you.
It's really cheap as well, so there's nothing to complain about.
The only thing that might be an issue is that it can get quite warm, so don't be stupid and leave it my flammable stuff, say like your bed.

got the a few days ago and it is very good. Delivery was very quick came in 2 days. Got this after ordering an airsoft gun and it came with a USA charger. Very good price and good quility. only 1 complaint and that is it is pretty big and sticks out of the wall alot and someone banged into it and slightly bent the pins on the USA plug! Other than that it is a very good product and i would recomend it to anyone!
