    These scales are rubbish. Do NOT buy them. The tiny round batteries are expensive, not available everywhere and last about a week even when not used frequently. This is a case of style over substance. They are also inaccurate and vary with each weighing. The feet are actually coils of plastic inside - how could they ever be accurate. Poor technical design for a flash presentation. Mine are now disposed of.

    I replaced them with some Salter scales which are accurate every time, give a reading just stepping on and also do BMI etc if you need it. They also use normal AA batteries - excellent product.

    The scales come at a good price and the email exchange with the supplier was great. The accuracy is surprisingly good considering the price. The only problem is that the battery life can be short and it's difficult to figure out that the battery is the problem because the error message to indicate low battery never came up in my case so be aware. Overall: great scales if you know about the battery.

    Please be aware that the in-box instructions state that these scales should be used on a hard, flat surface - i.e. not on a bathroom carpet.
    When I used these scales on a carpet, the reading was significantly under my correct weight.
