It sounds like Skype may have updated itself, as the newer versions don't work well with any tablet. Try uninstalling the version that is installed and make sure that app is not set to be automatically updated in Google Play.

I had the same problem. It was after I had made some changes to the camera settings in the camera app. I reverted to the default camera settings settings and Skype then signed in.
