From the dancehall skank of "Fever" and "Money Money" to the Massive Attack remixes of "Spying Glass" and "One Love", this excellent compilation is the perfect introduction to the work of Reggae's most respected tenor. Whether lambasting the youth of Jamaica in the classic "Skylarking", or praising Jah with "Every Tongue Shall Tell", Andy's haunting vibrato cuts straight to the soul. Born in Jamaica in 1951, Andy rose to fame with a string of hits recorded at Reggae's most celebrated stable, Studio 1. This period is well represented here, as is his subsequent work with Bunny Lee. There is much more to Horace Andy than just these 14 tracks, but it's a pretty good place to start.

This is a very good cd. Apart from about two track the rest are a great example of Horace's work. I bought this for 'Rock to sleep'.

as indicated, this is a superb starting place for the newly interested, and is demonstrative of horace andy's durabibility and adaptability. possessing one of the most distinctive, emotive singing voices throughout a long and varied career, he is one of reggae's pioneers, especially in pre-empting the dance hall style. containing two versions of the mighty 'spying glass', 'fever', 'don't let problems get you down' amongst other classics, this pretty much lays the foundation for further exploration.
