Bought this for my 9yr old - who has found it very useful and his friends have all drooled over it. However the pages are very thin/flimsy almost magazine like, yet the cover is more robust. It tells you what powers the skylanders have to get and an overview of each skylanders character's skills. It helps you get soul gems, remember the right way and some short cuts to get hats and treasures. The maps can be confusing to the pictures you see on the screen when playing. An essential guide for any skylander fan and will give parents a useful reference guide to what the heck its all about! However it does not mention release dates for characters or where to buy them from. My son has completed the game now, but still enjoys using the different characters with his mates. He has not been allowed to play the game endlessly since getting it for xmas so it goes to show a combination of using/reading this book and an hour or so at the weekend make it a useful buy and reference guide - highly reccomended by my 9yr old son!!

My son is nearly 10 and he loves this. A lot of his friends have the Skylanders game, but not the strategy guide. This puts him one step ahead (and which 10 year old doesn't enjoy that?). I have asked him if he understands anything of it, and he assures me that he does. He reads it at bedtime.

the ideal book for young and old. this book allows all granddads to keep up with the youndsters when playing this game. it is an easy to use reference and walk through. the only thing it does not tell you is when the rest of the skylanders are released.it is a bargainn and was posted very quickly
