So having looked on the amazon france website you can pre order the metal collectors edition which has blu ray and dvd copy and also 8 postcards and with all this put into a metal tin this looks great. Would we be seeing this on our uk site any time soon? It's due for release the 1st of March in france reatailing just under £24 pound stirling.
This would be a great edition to put with the special edition blu ray i purchased for the casino royale film.
Would it be feesable to order it off there site or hold fire and see if it get's released on our uk site?
Here's another link for Skyfall http://www.steelbookbluray.com/category/country/uk-steelbooks/
I'd love to get the steelbook, as i've never seen one, but you get 3 copies BD+Dvd+Digital copy Skyfall (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy) It seems that you're getting a bargain there? as you could give the dvd to someone else & keep the BD for yourself?
So from a novice on steelbooks, what's the difference in both deals?
So which offer is regarded as the best as i've never got a steelbook? Forgive me for going off topic, I hear on Skynews this evening that Blockbuster are gonna go the same way, I'm glad HMV didnt sell books to keep themselves goin as i got the Hunger Games bookset at Christmas for someone for €5.35 (€7 - 25% off promo) in another bookshop theyre €8.99 each! Inc best movies of the 80's for €4 amongst others, but were desperate to sell half price dvds at the tills also, The stores have now closed from Today in Ireland amidst anger at not taking in vouchers.
I've not got a steelbook one either but the one on the france site looks good.
Yeah blockbusters have also gone the same way as HMV there is no surprise the way they have gone i cant remember the last time i purchased anything from them for a while and also not from blockbuster either. It just puzzles me why they can charge so much for there items are there overheads that much to run there stores?
There is no news if they are closing the stores in the UK but i wont be surprised if they do how many stores did they have in Ireland?
Maybe they will go the same way as Game where they closed various stores and just leave a few open who will know at the moment.
On the news a while ago staff in two stores in Limerick are holding a sit-in as a protest at not being paid since Dec 21st.
There are 16 stores in Ireland with over 300 in staff, they were still selling merchandise & vouchers whether the staff knew on the 14th as they went in to receivership on the 15th & as reported on the news that the Irish branch are separate from the UK & should have honoured the vouchers when people went to cash them in, i hear the Derry stores are open until further notice.
With the prices the way they were, as reported also the place was always busy but no tills ringing, no doubt checking prices in store & checking online thru their smartphones.
As I got Bond 50 on Bluray for £75/€95 during the Black Friday deals here, while instore it was €150 & LOTR BD was €69 & here before Xmas was £9!
Here was an interesting story from the yahoo page: http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/irish-grandfather-defies-hmv-voucher-133805131.html
Are Game the same as Gamestop here as i was in one today.
I don't know if Gamestop is the same as Game pal but it wouldn't be a surprise if they were.
That is a hell of a deal with the bond films bet you was well pleased with them what are the quality of them like?
When i ever go shopping for games i always look on the internet first and then if i'm in my local town i will look in my game stores ie Game/Hmv and so on. But it always comes down to it that the internet always wins hands down.
I don't know how this got cut off from the last post, strange as this is the 2nd time, i had also posted that 'It must have suprised a lot of people as well, as it was the most successful bond film to date' also reminds me off Timothy Dalton's last film.
But yeah, there should be a good few featurettes in the bluray to explain a lot,
I pre ordered it a while ago and have just noticed it's saying on my order steelbook amazon exclusive 11.49,but it shows up on amazon when you look for skyfall it says 14.99 so don't know if it's just a steelbook version.
I have now, as i've noticed the steelbook on the site from today as this is the first time online for a while. Did your preorder get upgraded & did you get a reduction on the price as it was at £11.82 early this morning, i missed it sadly, but should have preordered it myself then.
This may explain it according to a poster over in HUKD:
''I pre-ordered the Blu-ray+DVD edition on the 10th of Jan at £14.99. Amazon sent an email this evening saying that my order has been upgraded to this steelbook and now I see I'm paying only £11.89 for it. Good quality of service.''
