Apryl Skies, a Los Angeles poet and creator of these inspiring poems and fairy tales, reveals a lighter side with Skye The Troll And Other Fairy Tales For Children. When Apryl is not writing, thorn climbing or drinking Mangleberry tea, she enjoys swimming with sea turtles and chasing gray clouds away... She also enjoys painting, jewelry and candle making. Other times, she is much like an elf. She wraps gifts, places stamps on mail and avoids licking envelopes. While these things are very important they are not nearly as much fun as writing fairy tales, so she really hopes you enjoy this book.

A fine addition to children's fiction collections, highly recommended

Being the prettiest troll has its challenges. "Skye the Troll & Other Fairy Tales for Children" is a unique tale from Apryl Skies, telling of Skye, a troll cursed with no hunch, no warts, and no smell and a pretty face, nothing a troll would want to do with. She finds her own place, and Skies tells other stories as well and makes for an entertaining and fun pick for youthful readers. "Skye the Troll" is a fine addition to children's fiction collections, highly recommended.

Apryls writing has been born in a flurry of color, music and magic. An imagination and creativity which absolutely soars. Skye is

I bought this book mostly because I'm a fan of the polyphony DVD that it's based on. I was not disappointed. There are illustrations on every page with many two page spreads, and with numerous artists contributing, nothing gets repetitive.
The fairy tales are beautifully written and I feel that the illustrations really make it come alive and will excite the imagination of the younger reader. Skies has created a poetic universe for children to become enchanted by, definitely recommended.
