4.0 out of 5 stars A momentous and thrilling finale, leaving you wanting more., 6 Nov 2000
By A Customer
The thrilling conclusion to the Dragon Star trilogy certainly leaves you wanting more. By the end of the book, I was emotionally drained. But, as usual Ms Rawn has created many new characters that are begging to be developed and used in further Sunrunner adventures. I certainly hope that there are many more to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Finale of an Underrated Masterpiece...., 23 Feb 2004
By Ersatz (Wales) - See all my reviews
Wny have I chosen to review this book instead of any other title in the series? - For the simple reason that it encapsulates perfectly the sheer power of Rawn's storytelling prowess and breathtaking vision.
Whilst the entire series is brimming with intrigue, passion and true majesty, this is the book that finally cements Rawn as one of the great writers within the genre.
From the gargantuan cast of players, you will find characters that will infuriate, manipulate and beguile you and the intricate plotlines are resolved with flourish.
In fact, Rawn's spiralling finale is as skilfully wrought as an artful Sunrunner's glorious tapestry of colour.
This book left me breathless, speechless and a quivering heap of despair and delight in equal measure.
If you are looking for a series that will enthrall, captivate and thoroughly engage you, then Rawn's masterful saga will not disappoint.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing End to the Dragon Star Series, 1 Sep 2002
By Myrtle "featherandquill" (Scotland) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
Being the end of a trilogy, you know roughly what you are in for when you buy this book. Sadly, however, Book Three is impersonal and I felt that the storyline was the momentum with the characters being pawns that were shuffled around. Although I read and enjoyed it, it was not engrossing like George RR Martin's books A Song of Ice and Fire. I kept confusing characters because they were not individuals but one-dimensional plot shifters. Perhaps if I had read it sooner after The Dragon Token I would have found it less muddled, but I can't help thinking that if Pol had got his act together quicker, Skybowl need not have been written.
