5.0 out of 5 stars A bathtime treat 24 April 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
We read these poems to our daughter as a bathtime treat in the 80s. She still knows reams of them off by heart and now she is reading them to her grandson. It's a goody!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent poems for children 21 Dec 2005
By Sailoil - Published on
McGough is a renowned Liverpool poet with a long collection of publications behind him, both of adult and children's works. His children's poetry is not of the cute and cuddly variety. It is thought provoking and often addresses issues which are very important to children, such as bullying, violence and death. But he also writes material that is uplifting and rip-roaringly funny.

This is a short collection of children's poems, and is perfect for children with a reading age of nine and upwards.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome poetry book 3 Jan 2009
By Primadona - Published on
I got this book about 10 or 12 years ago back in elementary school. I still remember some of the poems. I made a song out of "pie in sky" and i left notes on peoples doors back in college with "your friend the sun" I was expecting to find this on amazon uk's website instead of the one here in the US but hey, it's all good. i can't find my copy and i need to get one for my little nephew who came from london not long ago and is starting to develop an interest in reading.
If you're looking for a poetry book with lot's of great poems, this is it.
