Product Description

Skullcandy Ink'd 2.0 In-Ear Headphones

With its industry leading Supreme Sound audio technology, the Ink’d 2.0 delivers high-performance without the high-price.

About Skullcandy

Skullcandy became the world's most distinct audio brand by bringing colour, character and performance to an otherwise monochromatic space; revolutionising the audio arena by introducing headphones, earbuds and other audio and wireless lifestyle products that possess unmistakable style and exceptional performance. From the award-winning, optic-inspired Roc Nation Aviator headphones to the evolutionary fitting FIX earbuds and a roster of the world's finest athletes, musicians and artists, Skullcandy continues to redefine world-class audio performance and style.

Skullcandy is committed to innovative designs, ensuring your favourite headphones perform according to your needs. The ergonomics of Skullcandy product features are engineered to perfectly fit the anatomy of your head and ear. Skullcandy’s unique design solutions conquer industry and user problems. Skullcandy has developed a number of headphone collections to enhance end-user style and keep you true to your core.

Supreme Sound Tuning

Skullcandy is committed to delivering true, premium audio and their new Supreme Sound tuning gives your favourite music the full range of attacking bass, natural vocals and precision highs. Created by a team of the world's leading acoustic engineers, Supreme Sound is the exclusive audio experience only Skullcandy can deliver. It is engineered to the consumer’s playlist to deliver the best possible tonal balance of bass, vocals and highs.

Bass, Vocals & Highs

These three audio components encompass the entire audio spectrum and are the foundation of the Supreme Sound Experience. Through Supreme Sound, Skullcandy has defined the way bass, vocals and highs should sound in all of their products. Consumer headphones often deliver suppressed ‘muddy’ bass or exaggerated ‘boomy’ bass. ‘Attacking Bass’ packs a sound that is punchy and powerful.

Natural Vocals

Conventional headphones can sound tinny and hollow like they are being pushed through an AM radio. Supreme Sound creates a warm and smooth listening experience so you can hear every inflection in your favourite songwriter’s lyrics, as if you were standing beside them.

Precision Highs

Typical headphones in the market create a harsh or dull sound that can be fatiguing to the ears, however, Skullcandy engineer their headphones to produce clean and spacious highs, not piercing or muted highs like you may have heard in other headphones. Supreme Sound delivers perfect highs for the final element of an amazing audio experience.

Not too expensive and well packaged headphones.

EARBUDS
=======
They come with two sets: small buds and large buds. Both were acceptable. The smaller are more comfortable, whilst letting in a little more external sound. The larger buds I found a tiny bit more noticeable in the ear, with no air or external sound leaking in.

QUALITY
=======
Appear well made and have survived several drops on the floor, stepping on and a lassoing.

SOUND
=====
Fine. Not too base-y. Not too tin-ey. Certainly not top end quality headphone sound. (But they're not top end price) For the money they are good.

OVERALL
=======
I quite like them, I found them responsive, comfortable and eye catching.

I have been through 10 sets of in-ear headphones in the last 3 years and wasted a good deal of money including Bose IE1 at (£90), Shure e3c (£120), Klipsch S4 (£50) and can say without a doubt that these are the best value for money. The sound is less coloured than the Bose IE1s, there is better response at the low end than the Shure E3cs and the build quality is far superior to the Klipsch S4. The strange thing is, they cost a fraction of any of these other sets (£20). I could talk at length about the 'no-tangle' ribbon wire and the simple and well placed microphone and control button but I would much rather scream: "GET THEM! THEY ARE FANTASTIC!". I hope this helps someone decide. :)

To be honest I wasn't expecting too much from these headphones. My beloved apple EarPods broke and I was looking for a cheap alternative, and I found these. I paid just £9 for them so I didn't think they would even come close to my old ones.

I was wrong. These are as good/better than any other headphones/earphones I have ever tried and about 10x as comfortable as my old apple ones. If they break (which I'm sure they won't, they seem to be quite sturdy) I will definitely just buy another pair, I cannot recommend them enough!

~edit~
Now having had them for about 2 months, yet another pair of headphones has broken on me. I definitely treated these with care as I really liked them, however about 2 weeks ago one of the plastic casings on the actual earbuds snapped (which I fixed quite successfully with sellotape) but yesterday both earbuds stopped playing any audio whatsoever. Same problem as with my apple earpods, only slightly worse as with my apple ones the sound only stopped working out of one earbud. Probably won't be buying another pair as these were £9 and only lasted 2 months.

I have mixed feelings about these headphones - in my opinion the sound is pretty good but I just want them to work properly.

Good: Comfortable, decent bass, noise cancelling, clear at loud volumes
Bad: Quality, terrible lifespan, not exercise-friendly

The good points. I find the sound is actually pretty decent in these for the price (I paid only £9.99 for my pair). The bass is fairly full but doesn't reach the lower range of more expensive phones and the treble, again, is decent but doesn't compare to that of more pricey phones. I found they fit in my ear well most of the time, however during exercise they were prone to falling out at times. They cancel outside noise out nicely (listening on the train I wasn't bothered by strangers' conversations). They get pretty loud too, I found I didn't have to turn up much past 3-quarters of the the max on my iPhone to get my tracks booming. I also found they stay clear at loud volumes, a plus if you like your tunes loud. Overall the noise cancellation, volume, and nice bass surround you in your music quite nicely (for the price).

Now to the bad points. Firstly, the mic disappointingly broke within days of getting these. I keep my headphones in good condition and they go in my bag when I'm not using them - not rolled up in my pocket. About a week later they would start to cut out if I had my phone in my pocket during exercise. I would have to wiggle the connection to get it back.

A little while after that I heard a crackle one day and the track control broke completely, resulting in me having to go into my pocket every time I wanted to skip a track or pause.

Finally the left ear gave up one day mid-song and now is totally defunct.

I wanted these mainly for using as a hands free on the phone. Sound coming in is very clear but the microphone was rubbish with callers reporting they could hardly hear through the poor reception. The control box is a play/pause/forward/replay but doesn't control volume.
For music these could be good.

Skullcandy are just asking for a bad reputation with these! Honestly, I have had these for 2 weeks and just realised how bad quality and agonisingly painful they are to ware! The actual plastic part has a sharp edge which I have NEVER seen on ANY other in-ear earphones. All of skullcandy's in-ear ones are snothed down so it is amazingly comfortable! But not these, no. Some dumb prat at the sketch board decidec to change one of the best features of in-ear earphones... And then there is the plug... It is by far the worst design of all time!!! It may aswell be made by apple! I listened to some music whilst walking and the sound keeps pausing numerous times! Seriously, don't buy these guys! If you want good in-ear earphones, get any other skullcandy ones! This model should be called kill'd (my ear)
